I could let you know.

But you'll find out soon enough.

Sorry, no sound clip, but...

X-Ped: Didn't you use to have an RB dual which you sold a while back, then bought a Powertone from "BATMAN"? Well, I just traded my M2 to a fellow forum member for their RB, and I would describe the M2 as being more deeper and aggressive (sets off car alarms), yet, like the RB, it is a quiet exhaust overall. I actually prefer the M2's tone, but the RB is a better looking exhaust.

yeah, about 3 months ago I sold my rx-7 with the powertone exhaust so im thinking of trying out a new exhaust for my other fd. I am having another exhaust made with the powertone tips, but I was thinking of trying out the M2 exhaust just because I never heard one before. I've read that it sounds like a mini jet at wot on one of the previous posts. Just wanted to see a video so I can get an idea of what it sounds like at wot.

it's an amazing sounding exhaust IMHO. at wot it almost sounds like a sportbike, at low rps or for regular driving it has a deep throaty, yet quiet, tone.

I think you'd love how it sounds. I've never heard a bad thing ever said about these exhausts. And BTW, good luck finding one; I bought one of the last exhausts M2 brought in (they're sourced from Australia) before the shop was sold.

BTW, I contacted M2's source for the cat-back and they quoted me $800+freight. OUCH!!

Maybe we can do a group buy and they might give us the same deal as M2 used to. Anybody down?

I have an M2 dual and that's a good description. Once the secondary kicks in there is an unmistakable change in tone that sounds similar to a jet engine. At normal pace it sounds very similar to a Racing Beat; nice deep tone. I like it. Although one non-car nut bystander at an autox a while back described the sound as an airline toilet flushing

wow . I got mine for $500 a year and a half ago. it's one of the few parts on the car I feel I paid what it's worth. great construction and the entire exhaust is polished SS (not just the tips).

Why not just go with the Racing Beat? Doesn't sound so hot at high RPMs?

People say that the M2 has a really unique and aggressive tone past 4k that the rb can't beat...

Nope. I know this is impossible to understand without hearing it, but the M2 really has a nicer tone than the RB. The RB sounds (IMO) like a stock FD exhaust, just louder. The M2 is deeper and more bassy. If you've ever listened to a V-twin bike (like a Ducati) w/ aftermarket exhausts during engine braking, *that's* what an M2 sounds like, yet overall, it's quiet at the same time.
