sorry guys, another "i think i blew my engine" thread
i wouldnt be surprised because its been sitting way longer than i would like. a couple years, rarely driven. ironically enough it is/was almost back in action.
i do regular oil changes and start it up, used to every week, then it turned into once a month sometimes....
as of today it has been over a month. i just wrapped up diff mounts and replaced the fuel filter while i was at it. doubt i screwed that up because i do them all the time at work, but maybe i fucked something up there, who knows. i might search there next. ive started with blown coolant seals searches, afterwards coolant was a little low...
i started it, TONS of white smoke and the idle was a bit jumpy and rough which got worse until after a couple minutes it died. now it wont start, if it does dies again pretty quick.
if it wasnt for all the white smoke i would assume its a fuel problem...i notice after checking some fule filter install procedures, i didnt release the pressure like they instruct which like i said i do them all the time and we just let it spray/drip when the hose comes off. then just turn the key on before starting afterwards. and thats on pretty much every make, newver had a problem one.
but i DID go back out and do the diagnosis box thing to prime the fuel system like it said but its still doing the same thing. i hear the pump going and everything, nothings leaking....it wont run long enough for me to really check symtoms of a blown coolant seal.
anyway more searching going down now. this would be the first serious problem after over 3 years and 2 sevens which is still pretty good!

pull the plugs. check if there's fuel. most likely it just flooded. if its rough and just died, its probably just an ignition problem. I had that problem once when my ignitor wasnt fully grounded.

yea basically im a ****** idiot. it didnt even cross my mind but i pulled a plug and it was soaked. guess ill just buy some new ones tomorrow and unflood it and all should be well again.
so im guessing this is probably from something related to the fuel filter change. something so simple didnt think i needed to check out a write up and just did it my way.
like i said im getting so increasingly paranoid having this thing sitting. im like one of those global warming nuts jumping to the first radical conclusions now.

sitting is fine. Starting it and moving it then shutting it off is not. upon cold start, your car sprays extra fuel. if you just shut your car off, its like leaving extra gas? therefore making the car flooded. before you shut the car off, rev it to like 3k and turn the key off.

as far as flooding yes, but its still not a good idea to let the car sit forever. i am positive this is related to my fuel filter installation in some way. i didnt move it, the diff mounts been out for weeks because i was too lazy to work on it.
but that is exactly how i flooded my fc a couple years back, and i learned my lesson alright

well yeah i DIDNT prime it which is what i mean. most cars you dont have to do anything more than putting the key on for a few seconds before starting and that does it. usually no matter how simple a job with this thing i always go through a write up or two to make it easier, and that bit me in the *** i guess.

I flooded my 7 for the first time yesterday but it was only a minor flood. I had been in work and was asked to move my car a little. I have had the car for 2 months now and have moved it many times or started/stopped breifly without any problems so thought my 7 was immune to flooding (obviously not).
Anyway, I knew that it was only flooded due to my reading this super forum and just let it turn over a little longer and when I heard it try to catch I gave it a little gas and up she fired....phew.
Also, I experience a lot of white smoke at startup which I also believe to be condensation build up, as it clears up pretty quickly as the engine/exhaust start to come up to temperature...it also idles a little lumpy when its really cold until it warms up....ie like if I tap the accelerator when its cold sometimes the whole car will vibrate a little, but as it warms up she purs nicely.
There is a lot of moisture in the air in ireland as its always raining so I presume the above is normal...but would like other opinions also..

If it has been sitting for a long time, It will blow a lot of white smoke especially if it has been sitting outside because of the moisture. Make sure Oil and Coolant is full. Replace plugs start the car keep it at 1500-2000 rpm for a while (5 mins.+) to see if it clears out and idles.
I ended up buying someones car because they thought they had a blown engine and they didn't. I cleared it out and it ran fine for the next 10 years.

its cool. my plugs were hammered, i put them in almost 3 years ago when i got it. runs better. so yea i unflooded it 
i fell like such a fucktard for not even thinking of it.
but it was a pita. it was less than 20 degrees out. when the plugs were in and i was ready to start it my battery didnt have enough power to go. downfall of the pc680. of course my stock battery was dead. garage is so packed with **** couldnt get in another car to jump. found my beat up jump box buried in the snow in the backyard and got it going pretty easy.
and i think the exhaust was just more visible from the cold. it was nice and sunny but still like 30s yesterday, didnt consider that either. im a retard sometimes.
