something wrong with my car, help!!

i was driving nice and slow in a parking lot today and i started to slow down, pushed in the clutch and the clutch stayed to the floor. when the car is on, the car wont go into gear and the peddle stays to the floor. i looked under the car and it there was a liquid pooring out under the car! Anybody know what went wrong and how much the parts and labor may cost?????

The clutch is hydraulic. A master unit (not unlike the master cylinder for brakes) connected to the pedal. Followed by tubing that runs down to a slave cylinder by the clutch. You have a leak in that system.

It sound like it just "let go", i.e. its not a slow leak. I took a quick look at mine for reference a couple of weeks ago & I I think its all metal tubing. Hopefully(?) a connector just worked itself loose. Otherwise its a break some where which needs to be replaced.

BTW , hydraulic fluid just murders paint dont even spill one drop on your exterior paint .

check your clutch line, replace it with steel braided if needed. Or check your slave cylinder

two things I experienced:

1. the clutch line is leaking. replace with stainless braided ones.
2. the bolts holding the slave cylinder to trany housing is loose. tighten these...

If there was fluid comming out it's most likely the hose that failed. The hose could ha ruptured or as I've seen in two cases some one left the clip off of the clutch line where it atached to the bell housing and it rubbed till there was a hole in it. If the hose is ok then the seals more than likely went out on the slave cylinder.
