somebody help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

A fully charged battery should read 13.2 V. One that sits without a trickle charging should be still at least 12.4 V.

My did the same exact thing as you are describing. I had working lights and I thought it was my starter but it wasn't. I bought a bad yellow top optima. If you want to know if it is your battery or not just take that one out and try one from a car that works. You can also remove it and take it to an Auto Zone or Advanced Auto (whatever you have out there.) They will test the battery for free and tell you if it is good or not. Then you don't have to guess at least if it is the battery then you can start going through your fuses.
You said you arent getting any feedback from the starter??
Get a long extension of some sort, a screwdriver and tap the solenoid repeatedly while someone else is trying to start the car. If it starts, just get a new starter.

Exactly how much voltage does your battery have? 12.0 is not enough; if you're not reading at least 12.4-12.6V, your battery is probably not delivering enough power to start the car. Have you tried measuring the battery voltage while someone else starts the car?
If the battery is reading at least 12.4V while you're trying to start the car, try measuring the (+) battery terminal and the chassis for ground, instead of just across both the (+) and (-) battery terminals.

hey mine did the same thing when i first got it, and the lights and stereo worked just fine but the car wouldnt start, i took it to a local rotor shop and they said the starter was busted, there were also some leaky hoses and one messed up fan, it was all due to the previous owner and how he tried to modify it but obviously wasnt the best, my advice is if all tihs isnt workin to just take it to a rotor store or order a new starter, i think its the starter
it doesnt seem like its flooded becouse the car ran perfectly ecsept it smokes when starting it, white smoke comes out and it smells like fuel, not oil. we even drove it once and it worked fine. when it went off we tried pushing it and it started and drove but tried again like in couple of days later nothin. the battery cords tha hook to the battery are like almost new there really shiny and no dirt on em nothin.
When people say 'flooded,' they mean "flooded with too much fuel." If you smell a lot of fuel then it is possible that the motor is flooded (with fuel, not oil).
It really sounds like you've got no business trying to work on this car. Do they still teach auto shop in high school? Have you even graduated from high school? Please find someone who knows what they're doing before you ruin your brother's rare car.
By the way, did you measure the battery voltage? Was it above 12.6V? Have you tried jump-starting the car?

Sounds like the clutch witch.
the clicking is probably the relay clicks you hear from turning the ignition. When the starter is engaged, a relay (or relays, triggered by the key turning) will trip and and cut power to the Accessory Wire(s), which power fan motor, radio, etc. Since your battery has juice, and you here this click, I say it is the clutch switch because the clutch switch won't let the starter motor get any power at all unless it is grounded out (from pressing the clutch in). If not enough juice in the battery is your concern, get it jumpered while you try to start it. Then, ground out the clutch switch and try to start it (be sure it ISN'T in gear!)
Give that a shot.
Oh, and check out your FPD for the fuel smell. Be sure all of the recalls have been performed.

According to your thread here, this car was purchased from an auction, right? https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/what-problem-539867/
And it had been stolen, right?
It's very likely that the people who stole it ruined the wiring that connects the ignition switch to the starter relay. You should start looking for someone who can read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical problems, or learn to do it yourself. I've seen automotive wiring books at Autozone.

When they say clean the connections they don't mean with a toothbrush, it needs to be cleaned with either sand paper 230 to 320 gritt will work fine, or a wire brush designed for cleaning battery terminals and post. I would think your having problems because of the "Monkey'd UP" ignition switch don't over look the obvious. If you can push start the car and it runs alright then it's most likely the starter circuict, I.E. ignition switch, clutch safety switch, alarm relay ? ? ? ? anything in the starter circuict.

THE BEAST HAS AWAKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!! we finally found the problem it turns out to two stuped liltle wire not being conected. we went and bought new egnition and tried puting it on and my brother found two wires unconected and he connected and condition started to blow and windows started to go up, and we tried starting it and like a dream it started. Thanks for all your help God bless
Pix Please
Any way you could post a pic of those wires? I've got the same exact problem with my FD.
Push start... car runs fine.
Battery check... good.
Pulled starter out. Took to local parts place. Checked good.
Jumpered negative battery terminal to engine/body. Tried to start still no crank.
I hear the little click of the relay and see the power to my radio go out when I turn the ignition to crank.
I'll check the cluch pedal switch tomorrow.
Sounds like this eventually happens to all Rx-7 users. At least we have this site to help troubleshoot.
I do like the push button idea.
