Some weird stuff again, this time with stock BOV.

For those who read my accident post, I said that something very strange happened to my car after my rear end accident, the stock BOV started to vent.

I've checked the hoses for the stock BOV and eveything is still in place as it has always been. The car's engine is completly stock and has been ever since I've had it, and now the BOV vents under moderate/high boost. If I shift at high rpms using the second turbo at around 6k rpms, it vents quieter than say at like 3k-4k rpms where it is much more louder.

I talked to a friend and he says it could be an intake leak. I don't hear any other noises or anything at idle and the boost/power is still working fine as it was before the accident. I find this to be very odd because neither I or anybody else has physically vented the stock BOV.

Comments are greatly welcomed.

Thanks.

Dan.

Well I just went ahead and vented the stock BOV completely and to my surprise it was louder than I had expected.

I also tried to vent the second one, the CRV, which didn't do much at all, so what would be the point of doing it? So I just pluged it back into the air box. I am thinking more and more about the possibility of an intake leak somewhere, which caused the BOV to vent in the first place.

Do you have a boost gauge? It sounds like your primary is boosting more than you secondary. 3-4500 rpms is primary, anything after that is secondary. Your boost might be dropping after 4500 rpms which will result in a softer blowoff sound.

I don't have a boost gauge. I know both turbos are working fine because I can feel each turbo coming online at the appropriate rpms. When #2 turbos kicks in, it's not a huge kick, but enough to feel it. I don't know if that's normal or not for stock but I wouldn't mind some more advice.

THanks.

Anybody have any answers to the possible intake leak somewhere that caused the stock BOV to vent by itself in the first place?

Thanks.
