Some questions regarding boost creep

I've bought myself a 3" downpipe/midpipe and the Power FC + Commander. I 'm also most probably ordering the HKS Carbon TI catback and an Apexi Power Intake.. I'm planning on installing these parts this winter and I'm most probably not using my car again until spring comes.. I have a few questions about these mods:

1. Will the Power FC alone be able to keep my boost down to an acceptable level or do I have to invest in a boost controller too?

2. Do I have to buy a new wastegate or will the stock one hold up with this setup?

3. Do I have to upgrade fuel pumps/injectors or can I run stock?

4. Anyone know of a post/url explaining in detail how to tune the car using the FC + commander?

I also have a high flow cat to keep boost down if all else fails, but I'd prefer to go with full exhaust

You'll need a better fuel pump with a full exhaust for sure. You can control the boost with a boost controller; maybe port the wastegate. Depending on how much boost you want to run; you don't really need different injectors if it's no more than 10-12 psi.

Well first of all your Power FC will not prevent boost creep. I would definately port the wastegate to prevent the boost creep. It has worked for many of us to prevent creep it doesnt always work though so be careful. I would also suggest a bigger fuel pump but you dont need bigger injectors yet. If you want help with the power fc pm chuck westbrook he can send you tuning notes that have worked out well for a lot of people. hope that helps good luck.

Being that you're located in Norway, I'd recommend running the high flow cat.

Running a midpipe in colder weather will most likely lead to boost creep, and a boost controller and/or power fc CANNOT control creep.

And removing your turbos simply to port the stock internal wg seems like a lot of work. You can't really 'buy a new wastegate' either, based on your questions it's clear you have a lot of research ahead of you, good luck with it

I agree with Rich in that I HIGHLY reccomend you run either the stock cat or the high flow you have. The free flowing midpipe does not sound in your best interest and you really will not see any gain from using it anyway. Not to mention the high flow cat will help with the smell caused when using a more free flowing exhaust. BUT if you MUST use the midpipe do a search on here on exhaust restrictor plates and you will also be able to control the boost creep with that as well. If you don't use the plates you need to port the wastegae but like Rich said it is a lot of work for really no good reason.

The power FC comes with an instruction manual on how to use it for tuning. If you need to learn how to tune you should purchase Chuck's notes, they are worth their wieght in gold. Although from the sound of it you need lots of other instrumentation to begin down that path. The powerFC will come with a decent map already in it for you mods if you use the high flow cat.

A new fuel pump should not be needed but it is something you may need in the near future and they are fairly cheap and very easy to drop in. Also look into the Fuel Pump rewire thread also here on the boards.

And you will not need upgraded injectors.

All of this information could have been had in numerous other threads on the same subjects. Please I know you are very new to the forum but please try and utilize the search feature.
