Smile Some pics of my ignition setup

I have had a few PMs asking specifics about my ignition system, where I mounted the amp and coil, etc.

I'm running a Jacobs rotary pro pak, along with an FC coil and newly installed stock plug wires. I also just bought and installed a pair of low mileage trailing coils. I'm currently running 10.5s and 9s, but do run 9s all around depending on what kind of driving I plan to do. Having p/s and a/c delete makes changing the plugs a breeze, typically it's a 5-10 minute job.

Thanks go out to Howard Coleman for selling me this sweet setup, which included some great installation instructions and a nice bracket for the fc coil.

Thanks also go out to Chris Carlisi, who helped me with the install and performed all the fun electrical/soldering work while I was changing my oil and installing the turbo pipe pictured below

FC leading coil mounted on the bracket I got from Howard, mounted under the driver's side shock tower. I used an existing hole, just had to tap it. You can also see my Defi Fuel Pressure sending unit in the background.

This last is a pic of my rear turbo mandrel bent inlet pipe that I picked up from Chuck Westbrook. Theoretically it should help spool up.....I installed the amp and pipe at the same time, so it's hard to say how much of an effect it had. I will say I felt a huge difference in throttle response, driveability, and pull through the rpm range, especially above 6k rpms or so.

Hey Rich,

Everthing looks well thought out and a clean install to boot! One question on the pic above. Is it just me (or possibly the quality of the pic ) or does the front vaccum line in the pic spliced or does it have a kink/hole in it???

Can you run your engine with the hood up? Does your car have remote start?

lol, it's funny you mentioned that.

while chris and I were installing the amp, my younger brother Ryan (bridgeported12a here on the forum) was polishing all the stuff in my engine bay, and also spent some time adjusting the intercooler so the duct was better aligned with the core. After that, he cleaned and polished all four Fikses. My friends think I am lucky for the free labor, but I think he is just building up a case for a free future motor build

First you thank Howard for the Coil bracket that I made and now you thank Ryan for moving your IC over after I lectured you all night about how you were blowing hot radiator air into your IC with the duct slightly off and then took the whopping 2 minutes to moved it over since you weren't going to do anything about it. If you remember that was the main reason why I suggested we move the amp to the cruise control location. Your old amp was pushing the IC over to the pas side causing the duct to be misaligned. The goats would not be happy with you . . . .

Is that fan pushing air from the engine bay into the wheel well? interesting...

A little on the ghetto side, but I'm sure it helps.
