Alright, here is the deal. About a week ago my car went into limp mode, and it won't come out no matter how many times I reset the ECU. I checked the ECU's error codes and got "#45 Solenoid Valve - Charge Control" According to everyone i talked to, that solenoid shouldnt cause the car to go into limp mode, but said i should replace it anyway, and go from there.

So i ordered a solenoid from a guy on the forum, tested it to make sure it worked, and connected it, only to find that even after resetting the ECU, i still get the same check engine code.

I dont know what my next step should be,and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Check the continuity of the wiring to the plug for the solenoid.

I'm not sure why that would put your car into limp mode though... All it should do is not allow the CCV, venting most of your primary boost out of the CRV until it closes for the secondary boost...

 

alright i've got the UIM off now, so i'll go check that now.

mahjik, by any chance do you think it could be something stupid like a bad ECU, or do you think i'm looking at one of those near impossible to diagnose problems, that truly show how much of a nightmare troubleshooting an FD can be?

 

I believe failure of that solenoid or its associated wiring will cause limp mode, per page F-236.

Since you have verified that the new solenoid is good. Do as Mahjik suggests, check for 12v and gnd.

If the solenoid is still installed it's easy to check the solenoid's operation by grounding the harness connector to the ecu at the appropriate pin slot (4T). Be sure to remove all the connectors from the ecu, with the battery disconnected, then reconnect the battery and then turn the key on. Ground the pin momentarily and listen for the solenoid to click.

You'll need to disconnect the ecu either way (whether the solenoid is installed or not) to test for continuity.

Page F-57 has the connector lay out as well as the colors for wiring associated with the solenoid. At the solenoid connector (B/W wire) is where you need to check for 12v.

 

replacing the solenoid fixed it. thank you for the help mahjik and books, it feels so good to be boosting again. =D

Found my problem. Now help me buy on of these solenoids. Where can i buy one from and how much? I'm in Bangladesh. Are there any company which will ship it to Bangladesh??
