Smile Sold my FD today. Sad and Glad at the same time.

Well after 6 years of owning my car it was time to say good bye due to the car relaibility issues and wanting someting more reliable. Eventhough I practically fixed all the broken parts and a new paint job by now.
The buyer took the car to a rotary specialist to have the car fully check out. Overall the car in excelence condition. Problems : oil pan leak, broken left transmition mount, rear oil seal leak..I think that was it. He said it would cost $1200 for parts and labor to fix.
Anyway the buyer and I argreed on the selling price before we when to the mechanic... and I wouln't lower the price eventhough it has minor problem... I figured it 12 years old car and it can't be "perfect" .
How much ? I know you guys want to know...hold on , hold on... 93' Montego blue repainted to CMY, only reliables mods, 69,010 miles... excelence condition.. SOLD for $14,000.... bought it in '99 for $15,000 !!!+ $2500 paint, +$$$ fixint it to today condition.
Anyway good luck to all you guys staying with your FD. Hope u stay in love with your car like I was the day I pick my FD in '99 ....next car ? Waiting for 06 Honda S2000. Don't flame me just wanting something reliable. Good bye all.

s2ks are fun to drive, just the fact that getting a hardtop is pain in the ***
my friend bought a real deal mugen cf hardtop for his 01 and i really see no difference look wise between cf and black hardtop...
and that was 4500 dollars...

I had to do it. I can't fix anything so everytime something break it cost me a fortune. Got to a point where I don't enjoy the car anymore. 24 hours since I sold it and I have to say it feel like the monkey is off my back. Looking forward to get my new car in 4-5 months.

Very nice FD, and a good price for both the consumer/seller.
Goodluck w/ the S2K, I love those things.

Just sold mine too-3weeks ago! Sad-because I had it since 96, got it stock, did the single turbo thing w/haltech, returned it to stock and sold it, just too small and not practical during the weekdays. Sold the bitch for 23,000 euros, got it for 40,000deutsch marks back in 96. Glad 'cause I'm getting a 2003 e46 328 compressor 2-door(full racing dynamics car). Will probably end up getting one again sometime in the next couple of years just to mess around with.

Seems like a lot of people sell their FDs in the early spring/summer. Can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind this year

well its your own fault if you buy any seven without KNOWING you're going to have to fix it yourself at one point. Sure a S2K is a fast reliable car, but it will never please a rotorhead the way you've been stroked in the past.

good luck with you're new HONDA.... and i look forward to having a new enthusiast on our hands

My newly aquired s2k has pleased me more times than I can count compared to my old FD. Different strokes for different folks. Rotards can't get that through their heads.

You will love your s2k. I bought an 2002 2 months ago and haven't looked back. They are great cars and worth every penny.
