Spring break is next week for me...is the price of an FD going to shoot up anytime soon? I keep hearing that fds go up in value during spring but i don't see it happening. Right now I see a lot of FDs not selling and if they sell its because they were very cheap.

 

yes...everything except suvs(minus wranglers) go up in the spring time. fds go up from 10-20%. the single turbo fds forsale now for $18000 or $19000 will go for $20k plus in the spring time.

 

If you are buying. They will go up right before you purchase.

If you are selling. They will go up right after you sell.

Really, the season doesn't affect the price as much with older used cars. MAYBE on a car lot, but in general I don't see it affecting price that much.

Be prepared to spend a fair price for a solid car, and you won't have any problems. I found my dream FD in 2 DAYS. Read the above for more info.

I have not seen seasonal variations in the prices of RX-7s. Perhaps if you lived in North Dakota selling in deep winter might be hard, but in CA I have seen no variation.

The real issues with these cars is finding a nice one that has been owned by someone who can actually afford to maintain it. It took me a year to find one that I was happy with. Hopefully it will not take you that long, but I would not wait for a hypothetical post spring drop.
