So my mechanic says i need a new ECM...

Well as some of you know ive had this stalling problem for close two two years. Heres the usual symptoms, when coming to a stop the car stalls immediately, when making a full radial turn into my driveway the car starts to shake and drops to -4 vacuum. The mechanic also said the car is running really rich and the spark plugs were soaking wet in gas. So he said their was a bulletin for 93 rx7s for a replacement ECM, which makes necessary air-fuel ratio adjustments to maintain stable idle at all temperature's and turns off the a/c compressor when the clutch pedal is depressed or when the accelerator pedal is released. The bulletin applies to 1993 rx7 a/t models with a vin of JM1FD331P0208703 or lower produced through july 2, 1992.

I replaced the TPS swtich, the Idle speed control works and tested fine, alternator is fine too. He said all was fine but he couldnt get a signal from the ECM?

Anyone have any ideas, im getting ready to take my car back up to college and i need to get this problem ironed out once and for all.

are you sure the problem isn't due to too many different colors on your car????

did your mechanic check ECU codes, engine compression etc. before determining it's the ECU?
moreover, if there was NO signal on ECU, the car wouldn't be running.
