So I think I need to upgrade my supra pump

Well, the last couple dyno sessions I had at 16psi, I was seeing 85-88% IDC on the supra pump and 850/1600 injectors...I don't know but that injector combo, according to RPs fuel calculator said it should support up to 600hp. I am going to go retune for 18psi in the fall and know with the current setup I will be hitting 90+% IDC.

My guess it's the Supra pump falling on its face and not keeping up the fuel pressure that the FPR is set to...So in turn the injectors work harder to get the flow it needs...Am I anywhere near correct on this?

So what I originally planned was to strap a stock pump to my supra pump and "Y" them together...but it seems much easier to find a single higher flowing pump than the Supra pump and stock pump and stick that in there...When I searched it seems the r34 GTR pump would be the desired upgrade. What do y'all think? Is there any additional wiring involved in this swap or just a drop in replacement? and where do they sell these?

Thanks,
Me

Have you upgraded the wiring to the pump? Wade's testing showed that the stock wiring is inadequate and with a solid 12V, the Cosmo pump can actually pump some serious fuel.

That being said, when shooting for those kinds of numbers, I would consider the Cosmo pump inadequate. You should be looking at one of the Bosche beasts that go into 911 Turbos. I believe SR Motorsports sells a version of this pump.

Haven't upgraded the wiring. Was going to wait till I upgraded the pump to do this. I keep reading about people running a relay to the pump when upgrading the wiring but can't find any solid info on this.

I had a drop off with a supra pump and the same injectors. I think I posted in your previous thread. Any way we upgraded the wiring, tried the huge boshe pump, changed the fuel filter and the pressure still dropped off above 15psi. Ended up using 2 supra pumps with a Y into the stock fuel hardline and that was the beast setup!

run your Supra pump, buy a Kenne Bell Boost A Pump for $200 and worry about some other tuning issue.

i have run my BAP for a couple of years, i log my fuel pressure, and my 850/1600s get all the fuel they need.

visit Kenne Bell's engineering-rich website.

it is not realy a guess if the fuel pressure is dropping off, just look at the gague during the dyno run. going by the idc is not a real accurate way. what was the a/f?

A Supra pump should be able to support 658.7 E-shaft HP at 60 psi rail pressure when provided with 13.5v (at 0.60 BSFC). 4149.7 cc/min.

Watch the wiring for them...they can pull 17-18 amps at full tilt.

Howard, I think it's kinda funny. Everywhere I look for fuel setup you mention the Kenne Belle Boost A Pump ...Are you a distributor for them? (im not trying to be funny)

I think I will try and upgrade the stock wiring first and see what the fuel pressure is during wot. I am just going off the IDC because I don't have a FP gauge at the moment. Going to sell my oil temp gauge as I never use that and put the money towards a FP gauge.
