So I realized my FD is 19 years old!

It was born 06/1992 so it's 19 years and almost 3 months old. Wow

Can I apply for Classic car plates next summer when it turns 20?

AFAK most states go by model year, also, depending on what state you live in the laws are different. You are in PR?

New York is 25 model years old to get historical plates. Mine is older it was made 01/92.

mines younger, produced oct/1992. ;p
historical plate requirements differ by state. as renesisFD said.
however, you should qualify for collectors car insurance now. at least this is the case for any NJ FD.

In NY all pre OBDll vehicles are exempt from emissions. This went into effect the first of this year.

Utah fails again

"This plate identifies a vehicle at least 30 years old, is primarily a collector's item, and used for participation in club activities, exhibitions, tours, parades, occasional transportation and similar uses, but is not used for general daily transportation."
