So I Checked My Compression Today
For those of you that know (and some that dont) I bought a care from a fellow forum member ( vayper). When i recieved the car i didnt know if i wanted to keep the car or not. So after 3 weeks of the car sitting in my garage i decide to get a compression test to see what parts of the car to start on first. I.e meaning if it needed a new motor, or turbos. but now that im in the clear i can get it car to the performance level i want.
and if you dont remember the car it was the FrankinRotor( pics) for sale a while ago. O and David Checked the Frame for me and told me was straight. He's also coming over to do some general maint. on saturday.
So these are the compression test results thanks to David G. A.k.a THe Auto Doc.

lol the first pic is the test, looks kinda like a piece of paper. and the car was a salvage title when i bought it, now we are restoring it. since the parts were bought 3 years ago by the secong owner from the junk yard there is no way to get the paperwork( he cant find it) but whatever im going to replace them with new parts.

aftermarket is a no no, i want it to get back stock. I know your probualy confused, but here in ga you need all the receits to register it. the former owner bought the car from the original owner ( it was a theft recovery according to he and carfax.com). and i the car can only be rebuilt by a licensed rebuilder. so my good friend ( who is a licenced rebuilder) is going to get is registered for me, all i have to buy is the parts ( everything that is multicolored). Ga title laws suck.

That still doesn't make sense. Just get those parts painted, and nobody will ever know they were from a different car. I don't live in GA., but that doesn't sound right.

you guys need to read carefully. He said that Ga. State law requires ALL reciepts of the parts going on the car for repair. And that it must be done by a liscensed shop.
Almost every state has different laws. Here in Hawaii, vehicles are left on the side of the road all the time for dead. IF one wanted to aquire the car for their use, They would have to find the original owner and have them sign off th etitle. Which is rediculous because the cars owner obviously didn't want the ar as they left it on the side of te road. Long story short laws are laws and he is doing a great job at trying to conform to them. As it only creates more trouble to try and fake the state out

the break down
the car was bought from mazda by first owner. it was stolen, recovered and given salvage title
it was sold to second owner three years ago. he fixed it. in cali you ca nride on a salvage title
then sold to me one year later, here in ga you cant ride on a salvage title. so that means that the parts he bought are worthless cause he pulled um off junkers and doesnt have the receipt.
so now before i can ride i have to replace those three parts. to get a rebuilt title

States have these funny new things called computers They can keep info on the cars title status and cool trhings like that. A truely modern marvel. You can not fool the computer to think that the parts are stockers from that car when it has record of the car being salvaged in Cali.

Sorry! I didn't realize that the all-knowing computer has information about every piece and panel on the car. Just because the car is a salvage title, doesn't mean that panels have to be replaced. Cars can be salvaged for various reasons. It doesn't always mean body damage. Therefore, the all-knowing computer doesn't know that the car has replacement panels. Aparently Big Brother is watching your every move in Hawii. Hell, I don't give a ****! Ha can get new panels for all I care.

when the car is listed as a salvage a reason is given. If that reason includes panel damage such as a scratch that the insurance company totals then that is on the report. ( At least on our reports here )
I just don't get why people are so hard headed about following the laws. Do you think that it is worth it when the new panels are not that expensive.( comparativly to the possible fines)
Thinking along your lines then, here is an idea, being serious here.. Since the Ga. State law Requires him to have reciepts for the parts. He could "in theory" Take the parts off the car.. GIVE them to his budy at the shop, and then BUY them back for a dollar or so. Then you would get the reciepts needed and not waste panels that are in good shape. Assuming that Ga does not require "new" parts
That would due 2 things.
1) Most importantly, get your reciepts.
2) Make you feel like you stuck it to the state on their own laws
That said, I do not know what the penalties are for trying to defraud the state of Ga on a matter of this type. But it could result in the loss of a business lisence and fines that could total more than new parts to begin with. Hence why i stated he is trying to conform .In the end it is just not worth risking your entire car for a few bucks savings in trying to screw the state. IMO anyways
And Big Brother watches everyone! except themselves..who are the "real" crooks!

That's the old skool compression tester that generally produces lower numbers than the new Mazda digital tester.
I tested my engine with both testers. The old style gauge gave low 7's. The new style gauge gave high 8's.
