so all roads lead back to the FD
hi guys
Well it's been 5-6 months since I sold my FD. I sold it cos I had another baby on the way ( she about 5 months old now) and had to buy a house which I've done so now my family is set up.
About a month ago my wife gave me the go ahead to get back into performance cars so I started looking around and trying to decide which direction to go in.
Firstly I looked at the 4WD market and tried out an Mitsi EVOIII, although it was very quick the allure of RWD was too much fun so I passed on it.
Next was a Skyline GTR32, this was cool cos you can make a switch to bypass the fuse to make RWD from 4WD. But I hate the look of nissans, they are sooo boring looking and I would have to fork out heaps of $$$ for an R34 ( which I think is the only semi-goood looking Liner) . and the price was a little too steep for such a boring looking car too so I passed on that.
I looked at others - 1999 WRX ( subies just arnt me + its 4WD) , GTO ( wat a peice of **** that was, very dissapointed) 300zx ( boring + have seen how much room they DONT have under the hood!)
SUPRA- ok so I seriously looked into the MKIV SUPRA.
I took a NA manual for drive, I really liked it, the interior reminded me of a luxury version of the FD and it had good ( though not turbo) power. Istated hanging out in the Supra forums and those guys gave me heaps of awesome advice ( really nice guys as well) . But they recommended that because I had owned an FD that the only way to go was a SUPRA TT.
So I took a TT for a test drive ( Getrag 6 speed ) and yeah it was hell fast, easpecially up top on the open road, but price was quite steep ( $nz 18k ) and it still didnt give me that rush that only my FD has managed to do.
Some of the SUPRA guys even said to me that if they were me, they would go with an FD.
So I've made aconcerted effort to look into other Import sports cars to see what other packages manufacturers can offer and it appears that all roads have led back to the FD, the styling, the power to weight ratio, the awesome rotary power curve, the ease of modifying, the amount of online support and its awesome reputation ( which I have found talking to other online car forums) I wthink I would be a fool to go elsewhere.
So I'm now looking for another FD, It's great to be back

Yeah, I know how it is.....I bought a brand new 06' Evo IX, drove it for a few months and really tried to get used to driving another car. I've broken so many FD's, blown them up and swore I'd never buy another. I forced myself to buy a new car that didn't have any problems and wouldn't be a money pit. It didn't work, I sold the Evo, and just purchased another FD. Check my sig, it's hopeless.

I'd rock an NSX if I had to sell my FD....really though with all the cars I've driven, I can't think of one under 50k that I would want more than another FD.
