Smoking from rear driver's side fender well, hung caliper??
Well I have (and have had) smoke coming from my rear driver's side fender well and my friends think that they know what it is... but I wasn't too sure because of a few things. They said that my caliper is hanging up on the rotor surface and therefore smoking whenever coming down from high speeds (i.e. - Interstate) but my entire reasoning against that was the fact that if its hanging up enough to smoke the way it does when I pull over that I would probably notice a little more resistance when I either let off the gas while driving, or let off the brake when I park on a slope (where the car would normaly role). Any help would be appreciated.

You could also be getting oil on the exhaust - since the exhaust is on the passenger side, it would roll out of the wheel well.
Might also want to make sure the tire isn't hitting or rubbing against anything.

i would check the rubbing. however, the rubbing brake has my vote. i had a car where the passenger's rear brake stuck just enough to heat it, and make it smoke, but not enough to grab significantly
best way to tell is when you see it smoking walk by the wheel that doesnt smoke; check how hot it is, and then check the wheel that is smoking. on mine it was a noticeable difference(i.e it almost burned my hand when i touched the wheel near the hub.
anyhow, it would be the quickest way to eliminate or confirm the brake thing. you may not be noticing a significant grab at speed since those are the drive wheels and will easily overcome anything but a completely clamped caliper.
just my 2 cents. good luck, bro. you gotta get it in tip-top for Deal's Gap.

Well, I didn't even consider the pulling to one side or the other thing but you are right in that the car does pull to the left a little bit. I'll also go check the heat differences on the wheels near the hub. I've basically eleminated the fact that it is oil considering I know (very well, haha) what burning oil smells like and this is definately not it. Thanks guys.
