smoking exhaust question.....

93 FD was smoking more and more throughout the summer. Would'nt start after sitting for a few months. I put new plugs in it, and now it runs strong and does'nt smoke. What could be the problem with the car?. I thought I had a leaky turbo or the engine was going....I'm ready to take it to get some work done and would like to have some idea of what is causing it to smoke. I already tried to release pressure from the oil....no improvement.

I don't understand how bad plugs would result in bluish smoke(oil).

I had a similar problem a few years back. Turned out to be leaky fuel injectors. I had them serviced and it fixed the problem. But then again; it could be a number of possibilities.

I know the car is running rich(flames), the plugs were all fouled and I put them in new less than a year ago(less than 1000 miles). Now I'm at a lost as to what I should get done at the shop.

I was getting it running to take it to have the motor and turbo redone, now that there is no smoke and it's running strong, I don't know what to get fixed. Somethings not right. It still smokes a little at start up.
