How long does the smoking last? If the "smoke" dissipates quickly, it's just condensation. If the smoke is heavy and doesn't dissipate quickly, then it's not good.

Why do so many say the smoke is normal? Just trying to feel better about thier car that has some problem you dont want to admit to? Smoke is not normal for any car, including the FD. If it is cold outside then it could be condensation, but that only makes it a few inches past the exhaust tips or maybe a couple feet if it is really cold out. If it makes a small cloud that just blows away but doesnt really vanish right away there is something else. On my car the 160k mile oil seals in the turbos are starting to leak giving me a good cloud of smoke on startup. It vanishes after only a couple seconds but you can always smell the oil burning even after the smoke dies.

Condensation is normal, but smoke is not normal. Dont just completely ignore it if you really do have smoke and not condensation.
