smoked my clutch :( ... which one to choose?

Hey guys... got rid of my misfiring problem at boost and high rpm's after i went for Re-Amemiya ignition wires... running 1 bar on a non seq. setup with a panspeed ecu... had a lot of fun ... but finally my clutch started slipping when pushing it hard to the redline and shifting to the higher gear!... so i guess im ready for a new clutch! ... What do you guys recommend!? exedy stage 2?

Need to know mods / power level for accurate suggestion. BUT, Exedy will offer a clutch that will suit (from stock to 600+).

If you don't mind a pucked clutch, the Stage 2 isn't a bad option. It should also be said, the Exedy Stage 2 is *sprung* which really takes the bit of of the engagement.

However, you may want to consider the new Exedy Stage 1 'HD' clutch. It's an organic, full faced disc, with a bit heavier pressure plate. So you get a bit of a heavier pedal BUT get the smoothness of a full faced/organic disc.

The standard Stage 1 (10802) holds 248ft/lbs (which it sounds like you surpass)
The 'HD' Stage 1 (10802HD) clutch holds 306ft/lbs.

The standard Stage 2 (10953) holds 282ft/lbs
The 'HD' Stage 2 (10953HD) holds 345ft/lbs

With any of those options, consider their Lightweight Flywheel (ZF01) which only weights 12lbs, and you'll need a counterweight (N3Z2-11-52X).

If you are blowing those numbers away, and need something 500+ HP capable. The Exedy Twin Disc Ceremetallic is no doubt he way to go (430ft/lbs). Light pedal, smooth engagement, and really capable of handling whatever you throw at it. Part # on that bad boy is ZM022SD and includes flywheel, however you will still need the counterwight.

ACT also makes a great clutch with many options from Heavy Duty to Extreme, organic and puck styles.

Im planning to go single over the winter so i guess im gonna end up in the 500 hp range :/ ... right now my setup is:

Jdm Downpipe
Decat
Catback
Panspeed ecu
Greddy Ultimate
HKS EBC IV
FMIC
Dual fuelpump setup

running 1 bar ... should be in the 300 hp range i guess!? havent been on a dyno yet...

Thanks for the answeres so far! ...

Right now i tend to go for the HD stage 2 ... the twin disc seems great but the price is kinda..."expensive" ... its almost twice as much as the stage 2 if i got it right?!...

ACT? Act is really cheap!? Are they any good? anyone who have had any experience with ACT? thanks a lot so far guys!

ACT, Advanced Clutch Technology http://www2.advancedclutch.com/home.aspx

We install ACT clutches in nearly every car under 500hp that we work on. I would have to venture a guess that there are more ACT's in modified RX7's then Exedy's.

I personally have the Exedy Twin Disc in my 20B FD, it is a great clutch. It is expensive but handles 500hp with ease. If your goal is truly 500hp then you need to seriously consider the Exedy twin. The last thing you want to do is spend $600 on a clutch now, just to spend $1600 on a clutch later, upgrading once is cheaper.

With that being said, based off your mods list your car is $10-$15K away from being a 500hp single turbo.
