smoke from new exhaust when car off
hey what's up? I just put on a HKS hi-power cat-back today and after my first run I noticed light, thin smoke coming from the exhuast when the car was shut off. The smoke continued for 5 minutes or so... it had a very strange smell.. kinda like glue from a hot glue gun... anyways I was told that this is normal because new exhaust systems have certain chemicals put on them when they are produced... and the smell is just the crap burning up... anyways I don't have ideas as to what is going on, I hope its nothing too serious but I'd thought I'd get some feedback, thanks in advance.

Many exhausts with mandrel-bent piping still have oil inside from the mandrel process. It takes a while for all of it to get hot enough to burn off - perfectly normal.

My DP smoked for about 5 mins after installing it. And I put a Borla cat-back on my MX-6 (pre FD) and it smoked for a little while too. Both mandrel bent so that adds examples to dcfc3s' point.
