My friend has a 93. When he goes WOT all the way through to redline, there isn't much smoke, but as soon as he lets off the gas at the end of the run, there is a huge cloud of blue smoke and a strong smell of burning oil. Has anyone seen this before? I'm suspecting its his turbo's.

no, not turbos. If it was under boost then it's turbos. If it's unde deceleration, then it's engine oil seal. I have same problem. New turbos, but it smokes when it decelerates.

It's not under deceleration. Heres a common scenerio. When he goes WOT say through first, shifts to second, through second, then lets off at redline, whether he throws it in nuetral or stays in gear, theres HEAVY BLUE SMOKE with strong smell of burning oil. Now if he makes that same full throttle pass, but he lets off and leaves some throttle in, theres no smoke.
