Smog Pump caught on fire!

For the past couple months we've been putting a Mazda rebuild into my FD. We finished everything up and car started with minor probs here and then wouldnt start anymore. Found out there was no spark so i traced it down to the crank angle sensor wires was rubbing on the drivebelt. Fixed that then car started up and ran fine. About 5 min of idling all of a sudden my smog pump caught on fire. (small fire). I shut it off righ away and ran for the fire extinguisher but the fire just kinda put itself out. SOOOOO......Ive decided to eliminate the pump and get the Greddy Pulley kit. Just thought id share.....Later

sounds like it seized inside, forcing the clutch to rub at idle and eventually smoking/burning.
