Smic, Intake, dp, cb, no ecu.
From what i understand when you open up the intake and exhaust you get boost spike. I keep hearing that smic(greddy smic), intake, dp, and cat-back is a huge no-no without some sort fuel management system because the stock ecu can't supply the extra fuel needed to feed the extra boost. Is it possible to run without the aftermarket fuel controller if one would buy a boost controller and not set it past 10psi? Not trying to make a race car or run it hard because daily driven is in mind. Thanks . . .

you COULD have all that stuff bolted on and set the boost to 10psi max, but what would be the point in even having all those mods
get an M2 stage 3 ecu and you'll be all set, won't have to worry about hooking up a boost controller either. check the 3rd gen for sale section, people are selling the m2 ecu's all the time

Buying an automatic so all remapped ecu's (at least with my limited knoledge) are out of my reach. I could get a Haltech and keep my hold function or get a plug in harness for a PFC but i don't want a aftermarket fuel controller if i don't need it; especially since i'm not going to push the car hard. I just wanted a larger intercooler . . . the stock one doesn't look to sturdy. So anyone else have any advice? (please no, " Get reliablility mods " . . . thanks)

you'll be fine with an intake and downpipe without a new ECU but your next mod should be the ECU. you'll only get boost spike by installing a midpipe, which can be fix by porting your wastegate.

M2 doesn't recommend running more than 12 psi of boost with their Stage 2/Stage 3 ECU. If you install all of those mods with no boost controller, you'll be spiking up to 15+ psi.
I have a DP, exhaust, intake, M2 Stage 3 ECU, and a boost controller. I was seeing spikes up to 15 psi before installing the boost controller. I had the boost controller ready to go, but I wanted to see how much boost I'd be getting without it.

I ran intake, SMIC, downpipe, and cat-back at 10 psi on the stock ecu for several months -- a/f ratios were still very rich (in the 10.X:1 range). Made about 250-255 rwhp.
