Is this smart to do?

currently I have a pettit intake and exhaust on my 7 what iam wondering is, is it safe to also put on a downpipe and pulleys or will I start running into problems? Iam asking this because iam still on the stock ecu. Another question. if I were to upgrade the ecu would the HKS f-con be a good upgrade. I chose this because my 7 is automatic and I have to use something that is piggy backed off the stock ecu. Any help would be great.

You should be ok. theres no real way of knowing though. If you have a boost gauge like you should, just watch it carfully. You could get a boost controler and limit your boost to 10psi, that would help but nothing would be better than a ecu in the long run I would think. If you dont plan on doing any more upgrades, I would emagine that a good boost controler should do the job nicely.

As actionhank stated, you may need a boost controller to keep your boost levels in check. I would think the Pettit or M2 ecu's would work in an automatic, but you are going to start running into the tranny's power handling limitations at some point.

Don't use the F-CON or S-AFC or any of that type of crude fuel-controller. They are not precise enough to be safe and the stock ecu will still fuel-cut when you overboost anyway.

I was also wondering, could the engine also handle a front mount intercooler (I would have the boost controler at this point)? or should I hold off on this idea

I had intake, cb, fmic, and dp on the stock ecu. But got the ecu no more than 2 weeks after the downpipe. I had a boost guage and it never went about 9.5 psi. But thats prob because my main cat was slightly clogged.
