I love FDs and I strive to understrand them the best I can. Lately, looking at a lot of them, I've noticed that the FD has recieved two different tachs, apparently at random.

I see the following tach:


But then I see other ones that have a bunch of little lines in between. It's been itching at the back of my head and I was wondering if you guys could tell me wether it's trim level related or something...

 

Its year related.
The 94 had the tach with the mini lines in it. pictured above is the 93

 

I have a 93 and my tach is graduated with small lines.

 

i've got a 93 with the little lines as well

 

then its opposite....one has the lines and the other doesnt. This is what i have been told

 

All the 93's have the extra lines on the tach and speedo. The 94's and 95's are as pictured in the pics above.

If it helps confirm what the others have said, from the looks of the texture on the dash plastic, the picture is of a 94 or newer car.

 

I've had two '93 tachs in my car that have both had all the little lines between.
