Slug in oilneck and cap ?

Hey everyone..

Got another question..
Something I always pondered.

IS the slug in the Oil Neck and oil Cap normal?

IF not what does it signify???

I always wipe up as much as i can.
but always seems to get sludge build up.

Thanks

I get the buildup if I drive the car in colder weather, or if I take it for a few short trips that don't really get the oil warmed up for an extended period. Talk to an oil engineer, but my guess is that the sludge is an emulsion created by water trapped in the oil (I believe that the oil is supposed to do this).

I have a hard time taking a short trip in the FD though-- too much fun to keep driving
