Slow windows??

My driver's side window has been very slow lately so I decided to dig into it tonight. I figured out that the rear rubber guide that the window rides in was moving up and down as I put the window up and down. Digging deeper, I figured out that the metal channel that the rubber guide sits in has a tab that bolts to the inner part of the door. The tack welds snapped, allowing the metal channel to move around, causing the rubber guide to bind up the window as it was going up and down. I am thinking I will find someone with a welder and get them to reattach it.

Any other suggestions? Thought about that welding epoxy stuff. Not sure I want to go through all of that just to have it break again though.
