Slow driver side headlight, light not working
Hello,
As of the other day I've been having some issues with the driver side pop up. I disassembled the retractor unit, everything inside looks good. When I hook it up to the passenger harness, it spins strongly like it should. Unfortunately on the driver side it spins, but really low speed and not enough strength to raise the light. Also the light isn't coming on the driver side but I think it may be a bad ballast. The daytime running light also flickers, so I don't know if it's related. I checked the two relays and they both click on. Everything is getting 12v so I don't know what the issue could be. The only thing I can think of is maybe a bad connector plug, or a hidden ground somewhere I'm missing. I went thru the FSM and made sure all the grounds I could find were on solid, and they were. Any help would be nice. I'm trying to finish my break in so I can get it tuned.

I ripped off the front mount to check the two grounds on the front of the car I forgot about. The driver side was sanded down along with the paint and now it makes a great contact. Light works great, and so does the motor. Just something to check before you replace a retractor motor.
