Sitting over a year without oil

Im about to ressurect my 93 Rx7 from a year of sitting. The oil cooler was damaged in an accident and all the oil spilt out from it. The air bag also went off. It hasnt been started since it shut off after I hit a pole on my driver side front bumper. My question is how worried should I be of damage to the engine from sitting so long without oil?

I started mine after 15 months of inactivity to find out that there was no oil in it. She woke up rough. I drove around my complex at low speeds, and let her idle for long periods of time, and she came together pretty quickly. I have a solid motor though. There is probably still oil in there somewhere. I doubt she went bone dry. Of course I don't know for sure, but that's my guess.

MMO is a solvent, not sure if that'll be helpful in this case.

I'd recommend pulling your egi fuse so that you can crank the motor without it firing up. This should help to lube up the internals a bit before you actually go to start her up .

^I would crank it at least until you get indicated oil pressure.

Yeah, fix the cooler, fill her back up, and spin it over without cranking to get all the oil to all the bearings and lube everything up.

Is it necessary to pull the plugs and inject anything into the housings? Probably not unless moisture got in and rusted, right?

It wouldnt hurt to squirt some ATF into the spark plug holes to help in building compression so that the motor will start easier.
