silicone tape. . . or whatever?

alright, this is kind of a lame thread i think, but im just wanting to see if i can do this. . . havent been able to find anything, so ill just have to look like an idiot for wanting to do so.

here it goes. . .

i bought (a long time ago) some intake clamps. i like em. . . yes, they ARE from APC, but i still like em. . . no stickers or anything. hahaha. anyways, theyre a quick release design and pretty thick and i assume theyre strong from that gathering. i have t-bolt clamps on right now. . . and yes i like em. . . i just want these on there cause i cant get rid of em and need to do SOMETHING with them. anyways, theyre made for a 3in pipe. . . i have 2.75. i wanted to get some of the super thick silicone couplers so that i could use them, but the only ones im able to find are in blue. . . i dont really CARE to have blue couplers and would rather have black (my current color). the ones i have are too thin to put these clamps onto. . . so, after i came to the end of my coupler search, i figured id see if there was a "tape" i could use to build up the wall thickness. the tapes i found werent what i was looking for. . . not smooth like it should be. anyways, im just wondering if anyone might have some insight on a "tape" or "wrap" that might work. . . or if someone might have access to black silicone couplers in the super thick 4-ply type. . . that might help.

thanks,
paul

oh, btw, i already tried to return them for the smaller clamps. . . but was turned away for having waited too long. . . doodoo.

Would one of these be better?

It's the "Self-Fusing Silicone Rubber Tape"

Just go buy a section of 3" tubing. Slice off about a 1" section, and wrap it around the 2.75 " tubing. You may need to cut it to make it fit the circumference properly, but that shouldn't hurt anything.
