questions about custom intercooler kits..

just wanted to know how many people did there own FMIC? do the intercoolers on ebay that are 175-200$ work well? there are a bunch in different sizes and i would need to know what is going to fit with my koyo rad.....

also, is there a company that sells just piping that will work with a custom fmic?

thanks ... pics are also welcome!

They may work, but you WILL have to make your own piping.

Im not sure on the size though. You can get it close to one of the popular brand ICs and be ok since you will have to do some fabbing anyways.

i know which you are talking about...

the IC is fine with 3" outlet/inlet, but the piping is headache; you need to find your way to make it fit. btw, you need to work on your radiator too....

mine is still in process.....

i just typed this on another thread,......

check out the Piping on this FD..

RX7

I have never seen piping like that before.. i though it was pretty kewl.. I was going to go the same route but didnt know what kind of piping that is. I am not sure if its just plain old Flexible exhaust tubing that you can get from JC whitney for like 30 bucks.. but it definitaly would have been cheaper.
but i it was more of a headache to get the reducers and elbows and elbow reducers to all line up and Fit. so i just saved up and bought a Greddy Kit which came with everything you need

They have that kind of piping in the advance auto parts stores. I saw it the other day. I think it looks ugly if you are thinking of putting it in the engine bay... but that's just my 0.02 cents.

stock piping size is 2.75". The 2.5" in/out will be a restriction for you. I suggest you find one with 2.75" in/out.
