Exclamation Silcone piping all around?!?!

i purchased an fmic not to long ago and need piping for it. It does not match up with the greddy 3 row setup. I would need a shop with a mandrill to make the piping but thats hard to find round here tho i am aware of a few shops. It will be very expensive probably and im short on funds. Is it possible to use that silcone piping to take place of all the fmic pipes insted of using metal ones? They say they can handel some temps but im a lil nervous its not smart. And ive herd it can bend but i thinkk i have a solution to that---for example putting a long spring inside the tube sprayed in heat paint. Can i use this for my piping?

Talk about ghetto fabulous! If this was feasible then everybody would be doing this. Why did you buy that eBay FMIC anyway?

a good silicone piping could possibly be used, but it's quite expensive as well. a typical 2.75" 90* bend is around $80-90. i just bought a foot of 2.75" straight hose from turbohoses.com and it was $60 plus shipping

You may be able to but here are a couple issues I see.

1) As you ppointed out they may colaspe. Your idea to put a spring in it is a good one in theory. However i think that it may cause too much air turbulance when it flows thru. Maybe not a big enough issue to worry about.
2.) Also the temps as you said can get pretty hot. Espeacially directly off the turbo. When the hoses get hot they will have a tendency to colapse easier.
3.) The angles needed to route IC piping has some pretty major curves in it. Some that i think would kink the hose even with a spring in it. Just my opinion though.

I would get someone to bend you some pipes. Yeah it is a little more but you will not have to worry about any of these issues. Just my 2 cents.

EDIT: Forgot about the 90 degree bends and things that Samco and others have. That would help illiminate kinking.

Get some real pipes made. Silicone might actually cost more than aluminum or stainless pipes. You can cut up U-bends (and other regularly available bends) and weld them together into the shapes you need.
