Signs of a bad o2?

What are some signs that the o2 for a wideband has gone bad? Last night I raced this VW and when we finished and I was heading home it started acting funny and reading only 15-14. The car feels fine, any thoughts, Thanks

I'm not sure if this is right or not, but if your O2 sensor is bad, your car's idle will sound irregular and may even sputter. I'm not sure if that's correct or not, though.
