Has anyone on here performed a side exit exhaust, like right in front of the rear tire?

I'm thinking of cutting the floor pan and reinstalling w/ a hump to gain clearance / hole saw to the fender area for 3.5" side exit out of the body. Would love to see pics if anyone knows of a member or has done it themselves

I see it on 1st gen RX-7s and other straight axle track cars where they want to avoid the mess of trying to dodge the rear axle.

I haven't seen it on the IRS cars where you have a straight shot back.

 

Pettit's race car had side exhaust in the later years. From what I remember, and it's been a long time, there was no way a passenger seat would work.






The easier option.
