Question Should I still use twins?

I just rebuilt my motor. I am using Judge ito large extended street port and the housings are race ported (very large) . Anyways, I am trying to get some feedback about my setup and whether or not the twins are going to be useless or OK with it. I know I should go single but i don't have the $$ right now. I am basically going to run as much boost as i can with 93 octane.

A bit more about my setup:

PFC w/commander and data log-it
550cc / 1350cc
walbro 255lph pump
magnecor wires
judge ito large intake ports (Both primary and secondary)
gasket matched upper and lower Intake manifolds.
Secondary Divider removed from UIM
OEM 2mm seals.
All new gaskets and seals
Atkins solid corner seals.
all emissions removed (BOPs)
HKS Down pipe
RX7Store resonated mid-pipe
Apexi Dual N1 cat-back
stock SMIC (I KNOW I NEED A FMIC)

That's all i can think of now.

So you started a thread to ask if you should keep the twins when you can't afford to ditch them? I fail to see the point. In any case, you can make good power with the twins...as has been repeatedly proven over the years.

Well were there is a will there is a way, I could swipe the old deed to get a single kit, I just don't want to if i don't have to.

get a single, you won't be disappointed. You don't "need" a FMIC...there are other (IMO better) options.

If you cant afford it dont do it. You can make good power with the twins non sequential. A forum member made around 370 with the twins.

zumspdrx-7 Yes.

I know I sound like a noob but I was just looking to get some current opinions rather than searching for dated ones. I noticed that you live in Worcester. I live in the Fall River area. I have another buddy that lives the next town over with a 93' VR Fd. Maybe we could all get together for a meet or something.

FYCracing.com has meets in the area coming up. I believe the should be 3 or so scheduled in the colt state park area in Bristol, ma

Enjoy your new motor for a while with the twins and make up your own mind. Yes, you can make more power going single but what's the hurry if you aren't flush with cash? Spend your money on a quality IC and some tuning to keep that motor safe.

As said above, the stock twins can make a lot of power. Though, if you plan to "run as much boost as i can with 93 octane" with the stock SMIC, you will not only be killing the turbos with the high drop pressure on the stock SMIC, but you will also risk detonation.

Look up the VMIC vs. SMIC debate. A VMIC does cost a LOT more than an used SMIC.
