Should I have fuel pressure?

I recently installed a new fuel system with the Walbro F90000267 pump and put 5 gallons in. When I first went to prime it fuel sprayed out of the fuel filter ends and all around the diff. I tried it a few times to try to pinpoint the leak but then it wouldn't do it anymore. Maybe it did that because the fuel system was dry because the issue went away. So I went ahead and started the priming procedure using the 3rd and 5th pins in the diagnostic box and went to look at the gauge and it still read 0 after priming it 3 times for about 10 seconds each. Does the regulator only see pressure when the car is on? I haven't tried to turn the car over yet and still need to finish filling the cooling system, but I need to verify fuel pressure before I start to cycle the cooling system. I know these might seem like elementary questions, but I've never had a fuel setup like this. Thanks in advance.

Jump the correct terminals in the diagnostic box, turn ignition on and check fuel pressure. Leave ignition on while checking fuel pressure.....you should hear the pump and you should see pressure....if you don't hane pressure you screwed up somewhere. Turn ignition off and find where you screwed up.

Cool thanks. I heard the pump and I've jumped the correct terminals and no pressure. I hope it's not just the gauge.

I don't think that's an OEM replacement pump I don't know much about your fuel system but I have had experience with some fuel pumps

I used a hose to connect the to the OEM fuel stock and twice the pressure blew the hose off the stock eventually I double clamped it and then the hose itself burst inside the tank and no fuel pressure was reaching the motor of course I'd start with that check the in pump system for loose hoses

Ah got it sorted out. Like an idiot I got the feed and return lines backwards. I forgot I changed my slave and pushed the clutch to try to start it today and it stuck to the floor and I realized that I hadn't reconnected the throw out bearing yet or bled it. Hope I didn't mess anything up. Trying to get it started this week and tuned this next weekend.
