should i get a new hood?

I'm driving FD3S with light mods. (Blitz muffler, ARC intercoller, supersound blow off, Knight sport ECU, etc.) I used to have TD-07, but now as it has been broken I'm using original twin turbo.

The problem is the car is overheated everytime i go beyond 220 KM/hr. (132 Mile per hr. may be I'm not sure abt mile). Some of my friends told me that a good hood could help, so any suggestion for new hood?

With the stock twins, you'll tend to overheat more vs. single turbo. What type of radiator do you have? An aftermarket hood does help, but helps more at a stand still vs. moving. I have both, an aftermarket hood and an aftermarket radiator. What type of Engine Management are you using again?

220km WOW thats weird.

In my opinion it has NOTHING to do with a hood.

Maybe ECU, Radiator?

Nice looking car though...

I'm using standard radiator. What kind of radiator should I use then. For ECU what's the problem with it?
(most part of the car are standard, except those I already mention)

If I change those downpipe and intake stuffs would it be better??

Gosh! help! HELP!

Ps. the engine room is very hot, but I thought it's common. ;( or is it just because Thailand is hot?? ;(

If you still have a pre-cat, then the downpipe would be your best bet to start with. The pre-cat is basically a small nuclear reactor that generates heat in the engine bay.

Yea, get a DP, and maybe a new radiator. I dont know how much an aftermarket hood would really cool your car down. It would work but, a new radiator would help more IMO.

Looks like a server/forum crashed and the forum was restored from a backup.

Anyways, your car is overheating. Are you using the stock temp gauge or do you have an aftermarket one?

What kind of coolant mixture are you running (100% anti-freeze coolant? 50% coolant 50% water? Water wetter? Evans?).

The car shouldn't overheat just from some spirited driving. Have you had the cooling system pressure tested?

Is it true that single TD-07 will get heated harder than original turbo?

Well, still when I had my single turbo on the car was overheated too.

The gauage is the stock temp guage and it climbing up to H when I go over 220Km/hr. I have to dlow down to 180-190 to keep it down.

Single turbos usually generate less heat than twin turbos.

Sounds like your cooling system has a problem. When was the last time you had the cooling system flushed or pressure tested?

Even with stock equipment, you should see the stock temp gauge rising above the mid-point at 130mph (about 220 km/hr).

I'm using Knight sport ECU.

And I havn't got any check on the cooling system flushed and pressure tested. I thought the machanic would do that, now I guess he didn't.

I'll go run that check

Yea that's me. surpise ha? I'm the only one around here as well.

But the shame is that I'm not quite good fixing the car myself, so I'm here to improve myself.

Thank you anyway

I'd have to agree with everyone about flushing the coolant, and possibly getting a new radiator, and a downpipe. Good luck.
