Should I buy this car?

http://www.ramsteinyardsales.com/ite...184&src=SEARCH

I need as many honest opinions as I can get. Your opinion matters! Im going to test drive it tomorrow. Im very familar with the rotary engine as i just sold my rx8 though i am not familar with a twin turbo rotary lol

Thanks for the helps guys. Im sure you'll be just as helpful as the guys at rx8club

First do you have another car? An FD is a horrible dd. Under the Faq sticky there is a section for stuff to look for when buying a 3rd gen. If you do get it do the reliablity mods first. Other than that its looks great, i love the wheels.

This is a myth. There are plenty of FD owners who perform reliability mods and DD their cars.

It has a new timing belt?

I am assuming you are planning on keeping it in Germany? The seller's claims about US importation are false.

^^ Agreed.

The timing belt claim is simply novice, rotaries don't have timing belts. The lack of a valvetrain kind of eliminates that option. The importation claim is also false.

The car looks clean though....

How is that claim false? I've known a few military members to do it over the years, it's a pain in the *** and expensive but possible none the less. Irregardless, I will be here for 3 more years so it will be fun to drive and I can see the value going up. So, if anything I have that going for me!

If possible, have a rotary specialty shop check it out. They will know what to look for.

There has never been any evidence that it has been done legally. Please search before engaging in this topic - it has been covered many times.

Assumptions of increasing FD value have yet to be borne out.

Expect to lose money when you sell it and even more maintaining it.

exhaust and intake mods without even a boost gauge. alot of pieces of **** look clean and that guy doesn't know dick about rotary engines which is a red flag. compression test it and see what boost it has been running.

trust me i dont mind the scenery, theres plenty of outdoors stuff to do, but having an fd as my only car-my daily...where the nearest dealership is in las cruces, and completely full of suckness. and since its so barren its hard to find something else to buy as a daily and drive during the winter months...

sorry for going off-topic OP
