Shot turbo?

Hot side of the primary:

This isn't the greatest quality, sorry. Is this wheel done for? I ported the wastegate and saw this. I'm not sure if the turbos have ever been replaced or not.

Lemme know what you guys think. I have a couple of other pics, all of which are bad quality, so let me know if need be.

Looks like someone sent an apex seal through it. Even if it spools and makes boost, it will be out of balance and die prematurely.

Rebuild, replace with a set of used ones, buy 99 twins, or upgrade to a single turbo

Twins

Its not really worth rebuilding the stock twins, if you want with no mods than go with the 99 spec twins which will just bolt on for about $2500 new and have more hp or buy a used twins for around $500, if you want to go further than go singel.

I'm really playing with the fact of just going single. Aside from the outrageous cost of everything, it really simplifies things.

We shall see.

Damn money pit

Like Rynberg said, rebuilding the stock twins has a kinda low success rate.

I did see a brand new set of stock twins on eBay for around $1500 - if I was in your shoes I'd check that out. Most of the time new twins are much more expensive.

Also, BNRs are a good option and an upgrade, but run a few g's.

Used low mileage turbos are a great way to go if you don't want to dump loads of money and want to get the car on the road.

This seems promising too. I need to do some shopping around on my next day off. Thanks.

At least now, I know how to port the wastegate

I would have to agree with dgeesaman. We do offer stock twins rebuilds if that is the route you choose to go.
