shop repair time

hello, I had my engine rebuilt/ported by the same shop 3 times now, each time it blows in a month or two, and takes them 6+ months to build it each time and almost 8k down the drain , im really getting upset and want to have another shop build it and have it charged to them or something, anyone know what i can do about this, if anything?

thanks

1. Who is the shop?

2. Why is the engine blowing each time?

Geezus, are you paying for it every time? Don't they have any type of warranty? That's ******* ridiculous.

How is it "blowing" each time?

I don't know what to tell you. If the shop won't stand by their work then maybe it's time to talk to a lawyer.

first time paid around 6, they did other stuff with it, fuel system, single turbo and stuff, second time i paid about 1500, and the 3rd time is now, and asking 500 for seals and stuff, i dont really know how its blowing, the car was dynod/tuned

i dont really want to say what shop at this time, since they still have my car, its been there since september, and the only thing thats done is the engine is in pieces sitting on the ground.

Have you even touched the car inbetween the engines and blowing them on the dyno?

This sounds like it is the shops fault and should step up to the plate. They didn't give you straight answer on why it blew each time after they did a tear down?

Did the shop also do the tuning or was that a 3rd party?

was a different shop that tuned it, but they sent me there. yeah i used the car between the engines. i think they were testing stuff on me or something, i asked for a big port, so they took out the heat cups and ported it even more(i didnt ask them to do it), and this time they said they are using housings with the cups in, i dont know if thats what was doing it though, and yeah its a pretty well known rotary shop.

That's going to be the problem, the fact that a 3rd Party did the tuning (regardless if they recommended them or not).

Really, unless you can prove the engines are blowing/failing because of an install or build defect, there isn't a whole lot you can do. I would try to find out the reason of the engine failures (i.e. what they need to replace to rebuild it), and then find out exactly what your A/F ratio is for the level of boost you are running. I assume the place that tuned your car did a dyno tune since you mentioned "dyno" near the word "tunning". If so, they should have a print out of the dyno as well as the A/F ratio.

And waiting that long for a rebuild, they don't know what they're doing if it takes them 6 mo.

Did the shop give you any lube, or did they just give it to you dry?

I meant because it sounds like you got screwed, humor is sometimes difficult to get across online.
