Sharing a review on the Apexi Noir exhaust

Love it, has a nice quiet deep tone just the way I wanted it. When I started the car after the install I thought something was wrong because it was such a drastic decrease in sound haha.

Some background info on my setups. Single turbo with half bridge. I ran a straight through mid-pipe with a PFS exhaust = rattled the picture frames inside the house

Then I purchased the SMB metalic substrate converter with muffler. Still very loud with the PFS exhaust. The SMB cat clogged after a couple of months so I decided to gut the catalytic converter and purchase the Apexi Noir.

Looking forward to video.
Odd that the SMB cat clogged. I had that same midpipe for a number of years and thousands of miles w/o a problem.

I love the way the Noir looks and sounds. Even with an unresonated midpipe the volume was perfectly fine. I only got rid of mine because I was chasing my tail on a lack of top-end power issue. I got a light one day and shone it into the muffler...it isn't a straight through design, which is why it's so quiet....but not the best for high flow. The muffler wasn't my issue at all and I kind of miss that exhaust...

Yeah I am not too sure on those cats. That's why I sold it. People absolutely love it though. And you can't deny that it's a work of art.

Sorry to hear that you ended up gutting it.

Looks like a painted version of my tanabe. Looks nice.

Kinda reminds me of the Vibrant brand stealth units. Always wanted to make an exhaust with one of their mufflers.

I was contemplating for a long time about either getting this exhaust or tanabe medallion touring. For some reason I assumed (not sure if this is actually the case) this might be more of a restrictive exhaust than the tanabe so got the latter one. Although I liked the stealth look of Noir better.

It's worth noting that my brother had scored a brand new Apex'i GT spec catback a while back with the straight through 3.75 inch piping for his SSM base model FD. He had it powder coated black and it came out looking baller

apexi seems to go from 75mm to 80mm near the flange. the rest of the exhaust system is 76mm downpipe and midpipe

I have the same exhaust and agree that it is so quiet I tend to forget I have an aftermarket exhaust. It doesn't draw attention and annoy neighbors so that's a plus. I am switching it out soon and will be putting mine up for sale if anyone is looking.
