Question Sequential turbo? twin turbo?

When i bought my car the guy selling it said had sequential turbo but had been converted to twin turbo. I was just woundering why my car had sequential? i thought all rx7s were twin turbo

maybe he meant non sequential. search for it and you'll get the phonebook.

that's my bet. It had the stock twin sequential turbo setup, and he converted it to non-sequential turbo setup. A quick rundown....sequential is when one turbo spools up and then the other spools up. non sequential is when both turbos spool at the same time. That's the BASIC explanation. Welcome to the forums.

thanks, yea im pretty new at everything about this car. i just got my rx7 so im trying to learn rotary, and i have never had a turbo car before so i never really looked into it. thanks

I suppose nobody actually answered your question.

All 93+ RX-7s come from the factory with a twin turbo assembly running in sequential mode. Some owners reconfigure the control system (simplify, actually) to run in non-sequential mode. So non-seq is a modification to the stock setup using the stock turbos.

Single turbos on a 93+ are always aftermarket.
