Me and Rich JUST talked about this about an hour ago. We haven't heard anything either recently. Last Rich talked to the promoter I believe he confirmed you were signed up.

We still haven't received a start time/schedule or a tech inspection form. Rich is trying to get in touch with someone to obtain more detailed information.

For all first time track goers please take some time to review the information below.

All green/beginner drivers will be assigned an instructor and most likely have some classroom time. At the very least there will be a drivers/safety meeting which is mandatory. The organizers will explain passing zones, hand signals, flag stations and what the flags mean. Each organizer has their own rules, but generally everyone has very similar layouts. Feel free to take a few minutes to review the links below

flag definitions

Preparing for HPDE
This page also has other useful links on it.

Generic HPDE checklist <----Definitely Read This!
I took some time to create this checklist and HIGHLY recommend following it. I don't have time to add every little detail, but feel free to critique and I can add more as needed. The biggest thing is having no fluid leaks, fresh brake fluid, pads with more than 50 percent life and tires that aren't old and dry rotted.

-Dan

PS Sorry don't want this thread to get off topic as it is the Carlisi meet which also has a track day going on at the same time Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend! I'll be bringing a bunch of family members and friends along as well.

As a reminder we have a Facebook group going here -> Chris Carlisi Memorial Rotary (RX7) Meet Benefiting Juvenile Diabetes | Facebook

And a Facebook event for anyone who wants to tailgate down to the meet here -> http://www.facebook.com/ferrari.marc...0171551441861/

I will have pre-meet locations posted sometime on Wednesday. More than likely I'm thinking meeting points along PA turnpike and NJ turnpike. I havn't received any interest from anyone south of the meet so I havn't bothered to look around for meeting points down there.

If your interested either post on the FB group or let me know.

Thanks!

-Marc

Gil, good to hear it bud

Benny, roger

So I just spoke to the organizer of the track weekend and learned some exciting news:

During the noon lunch hour we will have Lead and Follow sessions behind a pace car (no passing) with groups of 7 cars at a time (is that number coincidence? ). Glen told me that every rotary that is on site in support of the Carlisi meet will be able to go out free of charge for a 'Taste of the Track'..... no helmets required for these laps

Also some other news:

For those tracking, please arrive at 7am, 7:30 at the absolute latest. Shoot to be done with tech at 8am, tech will be closed at 8:30am. You'll be out there running sessions until 6pm-ish.

They hope to have 7 sessions of 15 to 20 minutes each, and after the second session if someone is experienced on track they'll be able to bring passengers out with them. For those with extra helmets, definitely bring them along as I'm sure someone will need them

Also, for those last minute guys and gals, there still is time to sign up..... it's advisable to sign up ahead of time but worst case you can sign up the day of. The point of contact on the track for the cars will be a nice woman by the name of Michelle

Lastly, we will have a 'cooldown' session at the Finish Line pub at the end of the day. They're located on the track grounds and feature great burgers and frosty beer

Can't wait to see everyone there, it's going to be a blast

Any chance anybody is coming from the Poughkeepsie area or north with a free seat on Saturday morning? I have to pick my car up from JPR Imports(on the way) and have to bring my other car down, and my GF has to drive it back.

I REALLY don't want her driving my Porsche for 3.5 hours on the highway...

Thanks! I just got a response from Barb and she confirmed I was signed up but only for Saturday and not both days. I've cleared that up with her. She said there are no forms to fill out now but there will be at tech.

Nice checklist. I have a similar one I always work from when prepping/packing the car(s) for a track weekend. I'll try and pack a spare helmet for ride-alongs if I have the space (2 people + 10x10 canopy + chairs + folding table + toolbox + gear + overnight bags + snacks + etc. in an FD is pushing the limits already)

Looking forward to this weekend!

I'm still on old 615s but we use star specs on all the Lemons cars. The Dunlops are a huge improvement over the Falkens both in grip and because they don't overheat and get greasy after a few hard laps.

Exclamation

Very Important info:

For those using a GPS (probably everybody) MAKE SURE you use this address:

8000 Dividing Creek Rd., Millville, NJ 08332

This will ensure you arrive at the proper spot. Once you come to the gate, tell the attendant you are headed to Lightning, which is the track to the right

Im not sure on the rules with this particular group, but I know when a PCA group does "parade laps", you can bring as many passengers as you want.

Benjamin, the package arrived but I have not opened it yet

In other news, the weather for Saturday has been looking a bit dicey...... as of this AM it calls for high of 70 and partly cloudy with a very slight 10% chance of rain. Yesterday it was 40%, so keep your fingers crossed everyone
