Separating drive shaft and trans

I am removing my engine and transmission and I am just wondering how to separate the transmission from the drive shaft. Does the drive shaft just slide out or is there some bolt that needs to be undone? Thanks in advanced.

It slides out, but it might be a little easier to remove it by disconnecting it from the differential.

You'll want to disconnect the driveshaft from the diff, that way it's not flopping all over the place . Four 14mm bolts/lockwashers/nuts. If you have the rear of the car in the air, you can just rotate the driveshaft to get at all of them.

when u slide it out dont leave your face around the tail of the tranny... i made that mistake when i was taking my tranny out to rebuild it (5th gear synchro) but unless u like the taste of 85-90 gear lube keep away

Quick question,

Is it neccesary to mark the DS relative to the Diff hub for balancing purposes once you reinstall the DS?

i did... but when i took it off i noticed mine was bad, so i got a new one anyways... not marked obviously... i would mark it just to be sure it cant hurt anything, ive always marked driveshafts when taking them out.. just good practice
