Selling my 93 FD but having second thoughts...

So I finally decided to sell my project FD thats been sitting in my garage for the past 3 years. Was working on getting a stable job before putting money into it. So I decided to sell it and raise enough cash to buy a running one in the near future but after cleaning it up today and getting it ready for sale. Well the love/hope/dreams I had for the past 3 years just kicked in. The outside is in excellent condition as well as the inside. The main issues is that is automatic and missing a engine tranny.

So making a last request support from the pro's here before I sell it. If yall know some shops in Miami or near South Florida that can I can buy & install the engine/tranny and put it back to run, please reply with the contact info here or PM me with prices so I can reconsider.

Also, how much the difference from AT/M conversion? If it is not that much expensive than putting it back to run automatic, I would totally prefer paying bit more and making it manual.

Please let me know as I have been receiving bids for the car but so far they are a bit to low.

You can take a look at the car over here:

thanks guys.

Also I am willing purchasing the engine and tranny from retailers if I can save some cash and bring it in to the shop. Don't want the shop to charge me $3k+ just for engine/tranny when I know I can get the it for around $1500. Not sure if anyone has experience in buying engines from retailers but here are some I have found:

Mazda RX7 FD3S Twin Turbo JDM 13B-TT Engine Swap 93-95
US $1,595.00

MAZDA RX7 93-95 ROTARY TWIN TURBO 13B-TT ENGINE
$ 1,395.00

no price:

Those are used engines with an unknown exact amount of miles, but most are in the range of 35-50k miles. The likelihood that those engines will need another rebuild in the near foreseeable future if not right away when you get it is very high... if you can do all the work yourself, then you will probably need about another $2k at least for parts on top of the long block you get... try contacting Japan2LA, he can get you better, more reliable stuff.

And I'm guessing you don't have any core block or core tranny (or my reading sucks), but if you drop any of those engines in your car, you're in for a much more expensive ride.

3k+ is pretty cheap to get you back on the road and running it even just keeping the auto... If that is too much $$$ for you, then you should definitely sell ... or just park it in the garage until you have about $8-$10k and can afford to get it better ... maybe even manual.

Good luck ...

If it helps you at all, I picked up my fd for about $6500 just as a roller, but I did have the core engine and tranny, and had everything rebuilt. To get it back in stock shape, LOTTA new parts to make sure its reliable, came to about $15k... and worth every damn penny

well its definately a clean car judging from the one pic, i say if you can get what you paid or close to, sell it and save for a running one. project vehicles add up fast, especially ones with no engines. lol

Thanks for the feedback guys. Well before I continue selling it, have any good shops you can recommend on putting this car back on the street?

I emailed/called Pettit Racing in west palm but no response yet from them. Im looking for shops as close as possible to Miami, but can consider options to other parts of FL if the shop can do a good job.

Go on the SE section and there is a list of shops..
The best choices are MazdaPros in Hollywood or Lopez Racing in Miami...

They are the only places I would take mine..

Nice thanks Papsmagu, gonna look for their info around the site. Sometimes its hard finding precise info since there is so many posts and I read a bit in a old post the back and forth squabble with Lopez so wasn't sure.

btw can u pm me when u guys meet or is there a thread to follow? would like to join up My friend is the owner of nutekspeed.com and sometimes I bring models for photography for his site. Would love to bring them to rx7 gettogether.

here is the next event that we are all going to

https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-forum-35/nscra-event-pbir-feb-20-21-a-886013/

there may not be too many cars that make the trip to morosso cause most people have their car apart getting ready for DGRR
