Seized primary turbo?
Seized primary turbo?
Car is a almost completely stock 93 with 65K miles. Only mod is a gutted main catalytic converter.
I was driving down the road and the car suddenly won't maintain speed. It would idle fine so I pulled of the road. I replaced the rubber hose from the intercooler the throttle body with a radiator hose that had the exact shape maybe 4 years ago. It worked just fine and never collapsed under vacuum. I bought it as a temporary fix, but it seem to work just fine, so I never changed it.
Everytime I gave the car some throttle, the hose would collapse and the car would die. I took of the intake tubing with the only tool I had (a tire iron) and drove the car home. Very little to any air comes out from the intercooler. At over 4500 rpm with the intake opened up, the car makes a bit more power. I never tested to see if air comes out of the hose at over 4500 rpm, because it is difficult to do by yourself.
Any suggestions?
