Second turbo not kicking in, somebody help!!!
My FD, at about 3500 rpms, just starts choking on the gas hard. It just doesn't want to go.(this is with the pedal to the floor, regular acceleration is ok)Anyway, I take it to my mechanic at R&R Rotary, to get my pfc re-adjusted, and still no real difference. He changed my plugs, fuel filter, and some vaccum lines, but the problem persists.
He finds, that for some reason, my second turbo doesn't kick in the way it should(only about .5 psi). Has anybody here ever had that problem, or am I alone on this one? He says that my stock fuel system should be able to handle my basic upgrades. But I think that it has to be something related to that. Injection duty stalls at about 80%. Could it be a sensor, or collapsed vaccum line? I need help I appreciate anything you guys can throw me. Thanks

I have the same problem as yours. I have been to the specialist for the second time now to sort out the problem. The 1st time, they claimed it was the vacum hoses but the problem still persists with the secondary turbo decreasing in boost. And i brought it in again. today i am picking it up again the mechanic claiming the problem have been sort out. I still dont know how the car will behave untill this afternoon, hope it will be fine and the mechanic say the fault is due to the solenoids. Basicly, mot secondary turbo problems are caused by bad vacumn hoses and solenoids

Get as boost gauge and a full understanding of how the solenoids work and start T-ing into the vacuum line before and after solenoids. T into the hose coming off of the secondary turbo, if you're getting boost there then listen for your charge relief. If you can hear boost bleeding off after 4500 then it has to do with that.

I know all my vaccum lines are good. My mechanic just checked them all. Is it true that the solenoids can be replaced with any aftermarket boost controllers. That might be a cheaper alternative to factory solenoids, if I have to replace them. Anyway, thanks for the info so far.

Might want to consider going non-sequential if you can't find the problem. If it is not the hoses then it is probably a solenoid or actuator. Going non-sequential eliminates the solenoids and actuators and gives you a headache-free and simple turbo system. Only a handful of vacuum lines. Full boost comes on a little later than sequential but has good midrange and highend. Something to think about if you can't detect the boost issue with the secondary.
