Angry second turbo issue

HI i would really need some help now. I have a session with steven kan tomorow for tuning, and my car isnt ok for it. My bigest problem and pretty much the only one is that at 4500 when my secone turbo is suppose to take over, I loose all my pressure down to zero gradually fast. Its like its not spooling or anything. I did a hose job this winter, but havent touched the turbo side hoses.

Can anyone please oh please help me out?

if your car boosts in the primary area and only lose boost in the secondary it is most likely the turbo control valve issue. (I'm not saying that actual turbo control valve is bad yet). Turbo control valve opens at about 4500 and let exhaust go to secondary turbo and 0.5 seconds later the charge control valve opens and let all the pressure go to the intercooler. What's most likely happening in your case is that turbo control valve is not opening when it's supposed to thus the pressure in the primary turbo and secondary turbo never reaches equiliburium thus drop in boost.

Turbo control valve is controlled by the vaccum chamber, pressure chamber and of course solenoid. But I don't think that the solenoid goes bad so often. So please check the following

2 vacuum hose that go into pressure chamber and one-way check valve.
1 vacuum hose that goes into vacuum chamber
all the vacuum hose that go to turbo control solenoid I belive it's the 3rd one from the front of the car. to see if there is any bend or damage on the hose.

Please make sure that all the vacuume hoses are tightly connected if air is leakin in turbo control valve will not open. Visual check won't do a thing you have to actually physically try to pull the hoses to see if they are securely connected. and also please blow air into those pressure and vacuum chanbers to see they are in good shape too.

let me know how it goes. feel free to talk to me on MSN, Yahoo, AIM too.

Check here -- http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm

A definite culprit would be the check valve between the y-pipe and the pressure chamber.

I did make sure the check valve was in the right direction. The thing is, to start off, after I did my hose job, I had problems getting 6 pds of boost on my first turbo, and I was getting 10 pds on the second one around 4500-5000 rpm, then I went for a ride to a friends house, and when I wanted to show him my problem, the second turbo was not spooling those 10 pds anymore. And I figured out afterwards that I forgot to put back the Restritor pill on my Pre-pool actuator. So I did replace it, and I do get 10 pds on my primary, but now I still can't make the second one to spool anymore and i've been trying all kinds of thing without success.

What could be my problem then?

Are you having a stock Pre Cat!!

If yes, then this is might be the problem and you will need to change it immediatley with an aftermarket downpipe.

To tell you the trueth im almost having the same problem, but the secondary would hold a pressure of .4 Bar only and im currently working on that problem.

ok so after you put the orifice(what you call pill) the primary boost 10psi right? and in the secondary area does it boost a bit? or does it completely drop to 0 pressure? If so turbo control valve is not working properly. but before you decide that it's the turbo control valve please consider those questions.

1-Is smoke coming out of the exhaust?
2-Is your catalic converter damaged inside?

If you answer no to these then very likely it's a turbo control valve issue. What happens when you drive it to 6000rpm and release the gas and at about 5000rpm (while you are still in the secondary area) step on the gas again and release it quickly. Do you hear a funny sound (Poaawwwwn) ? also about the vacuume hose, the one that goes to the turbo control solenoid could be pushed against the ignition coil and gets bent and thus restrict the air flow and cause a problem. when I fixed my friend's FD that's what happened. He had the very same problem as yours where the car didn't boost in the secondary area. After he tried many things(changing solenoids, mechanical valves and so forth) I got down to it and I took out the intake manifold and changed all the vacuume hose and fixed the problem like that.

also the one way valve could be clogged by the oil too so make sure to checke it by blowing it to the direction the arrow is pointing and see if the air flow through.
