Hey DaiOni

Yea I saw that one...it's been up there for quite a bit, but I have no idea what the condition is of that left side bolster. He says something about protecting it w/ the leather bolster cover, but I have my doubts as to whether it's beat to hell under there or not. And if that thing is glued or sown on... I suppose if someone wants a seat regardless that would be great, but w/o absolute interest, I don't mess w/ parts of iffy quality...

I wouldn't be too sure about the lack of bolster condition - the covers have been popular for quite a while now (not surprising - as anyone who has owned or even sat in one of these will admit, they're a pain in the *** to get in and out of - and that's where you will be holding on to).

it looks like there might be a little bit of wear on the center section (though the seller says it's good) - hard to tell, but if I wanted it, I would ask for clarification.

I have a 4-seater, and like it that way, but this one had me tempted. Shame it's the wrong side (for me). I'll probably go with a set of reclinables.

Thank you sir, I'll checkout the those recaros, my problem is I'm a big guy - 6' 230lbs and Pro2000s fit me perfectly.

^^Those seats look beautiful Phil. It's a nice bonus that they drop right in and have oem-quality safety engineered into them as well

You can't really see it in the pics but the seats are faded a little.
I would like to re dye it or something but it might be too much of a hassle.. And I think new covers are SUPER expensive.

I've actually contacted Recaro and they said I HAVE to get it thru Mazda as Mazda owns the pattern of the seats or something and they can not make the covers.

Phil, they make a couple of variations of them in Japan. IMHO, the leather ones look like absolute A$$. Here's what the leather one looks like (notice how it jumps out at you...looks very tacky):

Here's a fabric version which is a LOT more subtle and a better choice IMO:

Phil, even though I'm sensing some tension right now, if you have any questions about these seats, no matter what they are, I've dealt w/ them man. Trust me about that. I've gotten quotes for the seats, the covers, the rails (w/ and w/o the tilt function), I've harrassed both Recaro and Mazda... etc etc. No reason to reinvent the wheel...

Easily done. This is how much fabric comes in one "kit" (one color only of course). Lemme know how many kits/sets you think you'll need. They're very cheap. About $20 a pop.

Hope that doesn't mean I'm gonna get a bruising when I come LOL.

Ramy, I'll take a couple of the black cloth ones if it's no trouble. No rush though. Thanks.

Phil,

I don't know if you remember ronkmiller. He had a custom shop that could recover the seats it would most likely equal the cost of the seats but could be done.

I was thinking about this for the longest time as it would be nice to get them recovered in ultrasuede. Then it would never wear or fade. It would also probably cost a MINT!!! eh but what doesn't

I can think of a few other reasons why your *** hurts..

I was thinking about that too, but the last time Ron was logged in on this Forum was Nov 11, 2005, and his last post was Nov 10, 2004. Anyone still in contact with him?

I brought one of the seats to local (recommended by many) custom shop and they said they could replicate in real suede for 1400 or 1500 for pair.
