Seat belt securing bolt size.

HI,

Does anyone know what size thread the bolt is that secures the front seat belts to the floor underneath the front seats?

It looks like an M11 but I am unsure of the pitch. It looked like a 1mm pitch, but I purchased 1mm and 1.25mm pitch taps to be safe and it still doesn't look right when compared to the bolt.

I need to clean the thread up in the floor as its full of debris.

Not sure on cars overseas, but US cars seem to be a weird size. I've never measured it, but I was thinking it might be a standard inch-size of some kind for US DOT.

Try a non-metric thread gauge and see what it comes up with.

7/16 UNF is the international standard for the last 30 odd years - and the FD is no exception.

I took one out last night. It's a fine thread 15mm.
I thought it was 17mm but was surprised when it was the 15mm.
